Too Much Radium

Well, the old Timex manufacturing industrial building in Waterbury, Connecticut, USA was a pretty building, with original wood ceilings and floors and brick walls and lots of big windows … but it was getting up to $350,000US to comply with the Department of Environmental Protection to take care of the radium contamination. Not to mention some unassessed underground storage tanks. But what really hurts is the infinite liability which you get burdened with when taking ownership of a property which may have environmental issues; compliance mandates may change and other environmental issues may arise or become a fad - and those would have to be addressed from now until forever.

Personally, I don’t mind a bit of radium in my diet, but evidently a lot of people avoid fats, cholesterol, carbohydrates, chromium, and super-string-theory physics models, as well as radium and other heavy metals.  So, on to the next.

Finally…

After losing my artists’ community and my home there-in about 4 years ago, I have finally found a new and proper site for another community.

Be prepared - probably this coming week - for an announcement of a new artists’ community and for an announcement of the very first independent and self-sufficient Aspie (Aspergers Syndrome AKA Autistic) community.

Wordpress Not the Best for Words.

Well, so far Wordpress is not living up to my hopes. I can’t have different pages with lots of different types of words in lots of different categories. So, on the “Essay” page, there’s no list of essays. There’s just one, big list on the left of all the pages. If I make a post, I can’t put it on a particular page. Posts are arranged by date, not by pages. Posts have categories, and you can look at all the posts in a category … so I could have a category “Essays”, and then if you click on that category, there will be all the posts. But that doesn’t work very well in presentation; you get ALL the posts, instead of just the titles which you can select from. I’m better off coding by HTML - then I can have the control I want.

.

I suppose wordPRESS. “Press”, as in media, news, chronological events. Perhaps all blogs are time-oriented instead of subject-oriented. I don’t ‘do’ current events, because they’re only speculations. I have no use for time. I wake up and wonder if it’s tomorrow yet or if it’s still yesterday.

I’ve created a wholesome and safe place to rant for myself … for myself.
